hi, i just started the insulite program 4 days ago. so far, i feel ok. not a big difference yet, but hopefully soon *crossing fingers*. HOping to lose weight.. and definately not be tired all the time. i work a full time job ahd am getting ready to start school soon.. so it will be challenging. i have a few questions...
1. i find myself thirsty ALOT... is that normal? 2. i've been drinking about 100oz of water per day since starting... and i got to the bathroom fairly often... i know its just my body adjusting. But all i drink is water, and yet, in the morning hours i "go" clear... but towards lunch and throughout the rest of the day, for these past four days, its been "yellowish".. is that normal? i thought it wasnt supposed vto be like that unless you dont get in enough water. If i am doing something wrong, please advise. 3. i am having a really hard time with the diet.. im doing pretty good so far. i am asian, and grew up on rice.. this i think, makes it extra hard. any suggestions on quick easy meals/snacks? 4. have you/anyone heard of the Medifast weight loss system? if so, is this compatible with the insulite program? 5. Should i take a multi-vitamin along with my pills? Please, anything will help. i think i just need a push up this bumpy hill. |

I am happy to hear that you have started on the System and you are well on your way to making healthy changes. I would be happy to answer your questions. First, I know that we are asking a lot of women and that the changes are not always easy. But please keep in mind that we want to optimize your health now and to continue into the future. OK, questions. I have had a couple people report increased thirst and it seemed to have stopped within the first couple weeks. I assume that you have not had this prior to starting the System have not been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes. Have you experienced any other new symptoms? Increase in urination and/or hunger? I know that these might be a bit hard to determine with the changes you are making and what we ask. If this just started with the System and does not change, let me know. It is also normal to have less color to your urine and the increased color that you see after you start using the supplements is from a B vitamin. It is just how your body will metabolize it and how it will show up. They are water soluble. Yes, because rice is a staple, it will have to be reduced. Just take it slow. We want this to be a permanent change. As you may have seen, there is a great website that is frew and you can enter your daily food intake into the site and it will give you an idea of how many carbs you are currently eating and you can start to cut back 5-10 grams a week. Also, increasing vegetables, and lean protein can help as you reduce the carbs. Some snacks can include nuts, hard boiled egg, cut up veggies, avocado, protein shake... there are also more suggestions in the guide that came with your order. Also, a great book is The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility, by Nancy Dunne, ND. Lots of recipes and food lists. The supplements of the Insulite System are not designed to replace a multivitamin. You can go ahead and continue taking your other vitamins. If you notice some redundancy as far as the ingredients of the Insulite System and your own supplements, feel free to check back with us to see if you are taking too much of any nutrient. I don't expect that to happen though. Lastly, the Medifast program is a very low calorie diet and yes many people have lost weight but it is not designed to address insulin resistance or any of the other symptoms (other than excess or difficulty losing weight) that are associated with this condition. The weight associated with this condition is not always helped by decreasing what you eat or how much. Often it is what you are eating. I have found that many women are not eating enough calories at times and skip meals and do not use protein and healthy fats to help support their weight loss efforts. Exercise also needs to be a part of hte changes. Also, when we address the cause, we should see weight change. The insulin resistance is likely the reason you are not able to lose weight. We want you to be able to continue these lifestyle changes so that you do not have to consider a "diet" in the future. The Medifast program also uses some artificial sweeteners, which we do not recommend. These have been found to increase a persons risk of developing diabetes. Some have been linked with actually stimulating insulin, another thing we are trying to decrease. Best of luck with school. I hope that this helps. Please let me know how you are doing and how I can help. I will be looking forward to hearing from you.
