Default Metformin and stomach ache

I have had a lot of stomach aches, indigestion, gas and bloating for the past 6 months while taking metformin.

What I am wondering... is it the food I am eating or is it the Metformin?

I used to love eating bananas, bread (whole wheat), rice, watermelon and beef, but I seem to have problems digesting them now that I am on Metformin.

Are these just side effects of Metformin?

Or could it be that my digestive system has been damaged from taking Met?

I had no tummy problems with gas and bloating before starting Met.

Any help would be great. I think both my BF and myself would really appreciate it if I could reduce the gas along with the silly noises that come with having gas. They can really be embarrasing.

Does anyone have a suggestion or information on this?

Yes, actually, what you are experiencing is a side effect of Metformin. Sometimes this problem can be resolved by changing to Extended Release Metformin. If that doesn't work, you'll just have to get off of it if you want to feel better.

Why are you using Metformin? Whether it's for PCOS, pre-diabetes or diabetes, you might want to check out the Insulite Labs Systems- they might be able to help you and your situation. www.insulitelabs.com
