    Default Joint pain

I'm new but have had the symptoms for many years. I starting having issues when I was in my mid 30's, I was given many DX's from specialists from Lupus to Benign Hyper-mobility syndrome, until it was finally narrowed down to PCOS..my question is though does anyone experience major joint pain? And if so, what do you do to treat it. I've had the issue for years and went from being very active and a active runner to somedays not being able to walk without major pain. I took natural supplements that helped somewhat but never took it away completely. I take Meloxicam for the pain but I'm trying to get away from man made drugs etc and get my body back to normal. So what I guess I'm trying to find out , is joint pain a symptom of PCOS? I see on some sites it says yes but I don't see much more than that..

    Thanks!

    Dear Lesli,

Thank you for writing into the forum.

In my experience with PCOS, this is not a symptom that I would say that I see as part of PCOS. There are many symptoms but this is not usually considered in the evaluation or diagnosis of the condition. However, we can see pain increase in other conditions, such as hypothyroidism, which is also an endocrine condition. When 1 part of the endocrine system is off, often other parts are too. What this means is that, even though it is not a symptom of PCOS, it doesn't mean that it may not be related to some imbalance in the endocrine system.

If you used natural therapies in the past and they helped I would suggest working with a naturopathic doctor (naturopathic.org) that can help you put together a program that may resolve this pain, find out why it is happening, etc.

    I hope that this helps.
    .
