Question Brown skin spots ?? help!

i am posting to see if anyone on here knows of anything that can help ro get rid of or slow down the discolor splotches that i have on the inside of my elbows...they are starting to turn brown and i am embarrassed to wear short sleeves anymore for fear that people will ask about it or point and laugh. if anyone on here knows of a cream or lotion that can help...PLEASE let me know!! I am currently taking chromium pills to see if that helps.

i dont know what else to do, i am at a loss since i have no insurance and cannot go to a doctor so see what they have to say.

Hello and thanks for writing in. This is likely related to insulin resistance, it is called acanthosis nigricans. It is often a thickening of the skin forming, darker velvety patches on elbows, neck, groin, etc.

You can try using a loofah to exfoliate but it is important to address the underlying insulin resistance to prevent the skin changes.

I am not aware of any topicals but with regard to nutrition, you will want to reduce carbohydrates. You can focus on lots of green vegetables, lean protein and healthy fats. You will also want to be sure to exercise most days of the week.

You can also visit our website and sign up for our weekly updates, regarding insulin resistance, etc. http://insulitelabs.com/

I hope that this helps. Please let me know if I can help further.
