    Lightbulb Medication/ Weight loss

    Hi Dr.Heather,

Your comments on the forums are too good and supportive.

I am planning for pregnancy and now I do have PCOS and also finding too hard to reduce my weight

    1. I did had cervical cerclage during my pregnancy but still I had a miscarriage due to unknown reasons. So will these herbs helpful for my next pregnancy especially since I had already cervical cerclage. I am so worried so that I don’t end with miscarriage again
    2. The cost of herbs is little high that is the reason I was wondering the period for which I need to take?
    3. Already I am on medication “levo thyroxine -75mcg” is that ok I continue with it when I am on these tablets?
    4. I do exercise 4-5 times a week, since I do exercise I don’t gain any pound but even If I skip for couple of weeks I will easily gain 3-4 pounds.
    5. Doctor has highly recommended to reduce weight for my second pregnancy. I have taken all my blood test and other tests which are normal except my hormones(Hyper) is little high

I would request you to suggest whether I can take this course for both weight reduction and also aid for my pregnancy

Hello and thanks for writing in.

I am sorry that you lost your pregnancy even after having this procedure to try to maintain it. The cervical cerclage was done to close off the cervix, which can be a result of a incompetent or weak cervix. There are other risk factors, as you likely know but this is not something that we see as a result of PCOS. So, in regard to your first question, I do not know if the PCOS System will prevent a miscarriage as a result of a cervical problem. Now, if the pregnancy was also complicated by PCOS, then the System may be useful in this manner.

The PCOS is designed to address insulin resistance, hormone imbalances caused by PCOS, etc. The System can help to support hormones such as progesterone, which if too low can lead to miscarriage.

We recommend the System be used for a minimum of 6 months to help re-establish hormones, address the underlying problem, make and maintain lifestyle changes, etc. However, we have some women that do not use the System for 6 months and some that use the System much longer. It really depends on symptoms, severity of imbalances, lifestyle changes made, consistency, etc.

You can continue your thyroid medication. We just want you to be sure that you take it away from the GlucX supplement, which is higher in fiber and can theoretically impair absorption of other medications and supplements taken at the same time. We recommend that you take it 3-4 hours away from the GlucX.

Because the PCOS System does address insulin resistance, it helps support weight loss and with out nutrition/exercise recommendations, it is designed to promote weight loss, which also supports a better hormone balance.

Keep up the work with exercise. As you can see, if exercising you do not see weight gain and without weight can change rather quickly. This is often due to insulin resistance and continuing to exercise will further help with reversing that process.

I would recommend the PCOS System in your case. Keep in mind that with regard to the weak cervix, you may need to have another cerclage in place and our System is not designed to address this issue.

I hope that this helps. Please let me know if I can help further. We are always here to help support you.

Great! Glad to hear you have gotten started.

You can certainly continue the vitamin D as the amount of vitamin D in our supplements is not enough for deficiency.

Regarding the other recommendation, the Fatigued to Fantastic.. which one are you taking? It seems like there are different options. I am happy to look at these as well. However, if it is a multi, it will be fine to continue. Our System is not meant to replace a multivitamin/mineral formula.

I will be looking forward to hearing back from you, if there is more to add or I can help further.

    Hello Revathy,

Sorry for the delay in my response. I did not forget about you.

Much of what you are feeling is completely normal. The acne worsening is not uncommon, especially when this is a symptom that a woman is dealing with. Be sure that you continue to drink enough water, having regular bowel movements and you should see as you progress this should get better. In addition, as the hormones balance, you can also have less acne.

I am glad that you are experiencing more energy this is a great motivator. As you continue making changes with regard to diet and exercise, you should see more weight loss. Some women see weight loss faster than others and as you know, the more your diet is on track and including exercise, with the supplements you will be addressing how your body deals with food and what it does with it..... meaning you will be healing your body in a way that will be able to process food better and with less carbohydrates, etc, you will be better at maintaining/losing weight.

Now, two months may seem as though you should have had a period. However, remember this will take time and it is still early on. But you are making good, supportive changes.

Lastly, regarding the potential allergy... has this continued, worsening, gotten better? I want to be sure that there are no complications or problems with you taking this. Have you ever reacted to any herbs or vitamins in the past?

I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks for your response.

Allergy : It has reduced now and i don't get some much as beginining now i get very little once in 3 days. Earlier to this, i am not allergic to any medicines or herbs.

My big concern is my weight and menstrual cycles if i am on track with him. I will be flying.

I will keep a watch on exercise and diet as you suggested. Do you want me to take some multivitamin(Age: 31) also so that i can see more results.

    Hello,

I am glad to hear that the reaction is not continuing the same way. It may not be a reaction to the supplements, as if it was, I would expect it to continue.

As far as the weight concern, just keep working at reducing carbs and increasing exercise. This will be important for weight loss and to help further support reversing insulin resistance and balancing hormones.

You can take a multivitamin/mineral formula along with the PCOS System.

Please let me know how you are doing and how I can help. Hang in there and keep up the good work.
