    Wink Clomid and Metformin

    Hello-
I am new to this so I hope that I am doing this in the right section. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 7 years ago. I have been in a commited relationship for the past 5 years and we recently got married. I have been on Clomid and Metformin for the last 5 months, and still have not ovulated. They have me on 1500 mg of Metformin and a very strong dose of Clomid. I recently tried the no carb diet in attempts to lose weight and help my body adjust to the medications. I got VERY sick from doing this. I am worried that I will never get pregnant. Its very depressing and frustrating. I looked into adoption and it is between $30-45k

Ugh, does anyone have any advice?

    Thank you

Hello and thanks for posting. I am not sure if you wanted a doctor to respond but thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth with hopes that other women see your post and respond.

If you were doing no carb diet, this can be dangerous. Your body does need some carbohydrates. With PCOS these do need to be lower. We recommend that carbs be within the range of 60-80 grams a day. We also recommend that most of the carbs come from veggies, limited fruits, lean protein and healthy fat.

I am not sure what program you followed. Right now they are using metformin to reduce insulin and glucose. I do not know what is right for you but I would consider the PCOS System, with what you wrote.

I wish you luck. There are great women on the forum and I hope that you find some additional information.

    Hi!

I am new to all of this and was referred by my best friend to give it a try. She was on it for some time and it did wonders for her and now she and her husband have a beautiful baby boy. So I figured I would give it a try. My husband have been trying to start a family but 3 years ago I was told that I have PCOS and don't ovulate like I should. We tried the clomid as well but it did not work for us and the next step for us is to do IVF. I just received my stuff in the mail today and I am very excited to give it a try.

    Hello,

I am so glad that you have chosen to use the PCOS System. We understand how frustrating and difficult it can be to manage. It will be great that your friend can be a resource for you.

We have a dosing schedule on the FAQ page of our PCOS website, if needed.

Please let me know how we can help.
