Heat Up Some Soup … And Lose Weight

August 19th, 2009

Have you ever noticed how surprisingly full you feel after a delicious bowl of soup?

Any broth-based soup – especially a healthy one with vegetables and beans such as kale, onion and white beans – can be a great strategy for weight loss or better weight management for those of us with PCOS.

That’s because it leaves you satisfied without having to consume a lot of food. Soup can also enable you to cut out fattening mid-afternoon and late-night snacks.

Try making soup an alternating habit for lunch or dinner every day, adding a piece of wholegrain bread every other day.

Soup comes in an almost bewildering array of varieties so check out your local supermarket. You’ll find the Asian section, for example, has lots of enticing soup ideas.
