The Insulite System is the finest in the marketplace, and many of our clients have experienced remarkable results, some in a very short timeframe. However, we want to set realistic expectations and give you a feel for how the process works over time. The following are general guidelines to help you understand common symptoms and time frames for improvements. Please remember that each of us is unique and so there may be variations in individual response times. The information below is based upon feedback from clients using the Insulite PCOS System.
PCOS SYMPTOMS AND CHANGES
MONTH 1
Better energy: Some of our clients report increased energy as early as the first month after starting the System. This is an indication that insulin and glucose levels are beginning to drop. We caution you, however, not to expect significant changes for at least 90 to 180 days.
An improved sense of well being: Better mood and less fatigue have also been mentioned by our users.
Changes taking place on a cellular level:
- Your insulin and glucose levels are starting to drop
- Hormone levels are starting to balance out, e.g., levels of testosterone and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) are getting lower; progesterone and estrogen are returning to an optimal balance.
- Your body is detoxifying and excreting toxins
Detox – What is it? The terms "detoxification" or "detox reaction" are becoming much more commonplace these days, but many people are still confused by what they mean. Detoxification is a metabolic process whereby the body reduces the toxic qualities of poisons or toxins in our food and environment. While our bodies possess the ability to eliminate toxins via the lungs, the skin, and the digestive system (which includes the liver and gall bladder), today's environment often leads to our taking in larger quantities than our bodies can readily eliminate. As a result, there is a buildup of these toxins that can be stored in our systems over many years. Your body detoxifies these substances especially in the liver. When you improve the quality of what you put into your body, it can begin to eliminate these stored toxins. The liver acts in two steps to make the toxins less toxic and more readily excreted by the bowels. Clearly, both optimal liver function and bowel function are crucial to the detoxification process.
The Insulite PCOS nutraceuticals contain nutrients and herbs that promote liver health and digestive function. Milk thistle, present in the PCOS+ and GlucX, formulas, is a gentle yet powerful liver-protective plant. GlucX is a fiber supplement that promotes digestive health.
How quickly detox resolves depends on both the individual and their lifestyle prior to starting the PCOS System. Allowing sufficient time for the process to work naturally while increasing water intake is recommended: four to six glasses a day can be helpful. For some women, it can take a couple of weeks and can be accompanied by headaches. Try to remember that the headaches are temporary, and signals that your body is doing its work to improve your health.
MONTH 2
An improved sense of well being signals that your signs of detoxification are clearing up.
Energy levels: Many clients report improvements in their energy levels while others find that it is another few months before they can identify noticeable changes. Please don't be discouraged if it takes you a bit longer!
This might be a good time to request a free consultation if you should feel at all frustrated. We really understand the process your are going through and can help you to stay on course.
"I would like to tell you how happy I am with the results I have seen in myself for the past three months since I started the Insulite System.
"I am starting my fourth month and have now lost 23 lbs. and 3-5 inches. Of course, my acne and facial hair have lessened also."

MONTHS 1- 5
Hormone levels starting to balance out: testosterone and DHEA levels are getting lower while progesterone and estrogen are returning to an optimal balance. This may translate into the menses resuming soon, and might cause some initial 'water' weight gain and PMS-like symptoms, especially if it has been a while since your last period.
Resumption of Your Menstrual Periods is usually a fairly early sign of a positive response to the Insulite PCOS System as is spotting which may indicate that hormone levels are starting to balance out.
Initial weight loss is one indication that the System is working for you.
Initial weight gain is less common than weight loss, but it can also indicate the System is working, particularly if it has been a while since your last period.
Facial hair and additional body hair: Some women will see a reduction within the first month or two. However, for majority of women it will take longer (5-12 months). Because this symptom is due to elevated androgens, these masculinizing hormones need to be reduced prior to you seeing changes.
As the insulin resistance is addressed and reversed, and hormone levels become more balanced, the new hair growth should become finer, and less visible. Again, genetic make-up varies from individual to individual. In our experience, some women may respond more quickly than others but facial hair growth can often be one of the last PCOS symptoms that resolves.
Acne: Initially, acne can worsen for some women during the first month or two. This is often due to a detoxification reaction as discussed previously.
The majority of women will see their acne start to clear within a few weeks on the System. For some -- depending on the number of dietary modifications they are making -- it can take a month or two before change is noticeable. Severity of both the acne and hormone imbalance are additional factors.
In general, we have found that by the third month, your acne should be reducing.
However, in some cases, if your acne starts to worsen during months three to four, this could possibly be a reaction to one of the ingredients in the Insulite supplements. In this situation, we can help you determine if this is the case or if it is due to dietary indiscretions (not following diet guidelines closely).
MONTHS 6- 12
| "I've gained and lost weight all my life. I thought it would never change. Now I feel there is a real solution to weight loss and keeping it off. I see weight loss completely different than I did before. I feel healthier both physically and emotionally. It's a great system."

Weight loss: Depending upon the amount of weight you want to lose, this time frame can be very satisfying in notifying you of the cumulative effect of slow and steady improvement that are occurring as you continue to use the Insulite PCOS System.
Skin tags (Acrochordons): These are benign growths that appear as small pieces of "hanging" skin; there is a link between skin tags and insulin resistance. Once insulin resistance is addressed, we would expect that the formation of skin tags would be reduced. Some of the smaller tags may simply fall off, but we recommend they be removed by a doctor.
Hair loss (androgenic alopecia): Androgen levels need to be reduced in order for this symptom to change. We generally see changes within 6-9 months. Some customers report that new hair growth, (along with the decrease in excess hair), takes longer to resolve. In cases where other PCOS symptoms are resolving and new hair growth is not, our Consulting & Advisory Teams recommend that an evaluation take place to rule out other reasons for hair loss.
Facial hair: Although some women experience changes earlier in the cycle, this is a symptom that often can take 6 to12 months for you to see more definitive changes.
And other body hair: As is the case with facial hair, noticeable changes often occur in Months 6 to 12.
Lack of Ovulation is a challenging symptom. The Insulite PCOS System aims to help in regulating and normalizing each woman's cycle. However, for women who do not ovulate, there could be health issues beyond PCOS that may be inhibiting their bodies from responding.
Although results may occur earlier, it is common for change to occur within 6 to 12 months.
Acanthosis nigricans: The development of thick dark, "velvety" skin increases and folds of the body is another symptom that is related to insulin resistance. While this condition can result in a permanent skin change, we have had many women report that the dark ring and thickening skin around the neck, under the breasts, underarms, knees, elbows, groin decreases and completely resolves when their insulin resistance is addressed. Since this symptom varies for each woman, the timeframe for noticeable improvement can vary, depending on how long your skin changes have been present. We have seen this reportedly change for women in as little as 2-3 months, but may take as long as 6-12 months.
When women ask us about the effect of the Insulite PCOS System on acanthosis nigricans, we explain that the skin cells (melanocytes) that currently exist with this condition will not change. This is due to the fact that reversing insulin resistance and balancing the hormones are not going to transform those particular, existing skin cells. There are some topical prescriptions that may have some positive effect and exfoliating can help shed cells so that a lightening of skin is visible.
Over time, as one's hormones balance, the new skin cells should be lighter. This is one of the last symptoms to improve, but it can improve!
MONTHS 12-18
Ongoing improvements remain individualized during this period based on personal health objectives. To maintain the changes you have achieved from this protocol, we strongly recommend that you follow some level of the nutraceutical, nutrition and exercise guidelines of the Insulite PCOS System.
To optimize changes, we suggest that you stay in close contact with our Consulting & Advisory Teams who will continue to provide free and enthusiastic coaching and guidance on diet, exercise, lifestyle and supplement needs.
CONTINUING A HEALTHY LIFE
We often hear "My condition has really improved; when am I finished with the System?" First, we encourage you to continue the healthier nutrition and exercise programs you have incorporated into your life. These will serve to continually support your feelings of health and well being.
At Insulite Laboratories, we also believe that the balanced nutritional support you receive from the nutraceutical formulas are, at a minimum, insurance -- that you will continue to receive vital nutrients that are difficult to consistently obtain, even with a healthy diet. By maintaining this healthy balance, you greatly reduce your risk of reverting to the state of health that brought you here in the first place. And, you can avoid many potential health issues and the physical and emotional pain that accompany them. We truly wish to see you have a joyful life.
LACK OF RESPONSE TO THE INSULITE PCOS SYSTEM?
We often receive very rewarding feedback about the positive results our customers have experienced. However, there are some instances when this does not occur. The reasons for this can include non-compliance, other health conditions that limit success, or the amount of nutraceuticals that may needed to be effective. If, after 4 to 6 months, you feel that you are not experiencing improvements, we urge you to call us for a complimentary consultation. We also encourage you to do this at any time you have questions or need support.
Women who have used the System and who remain compliant have continued to see positive changes in their symptoms. When improvements come to a halt after six months on the System, it is often due to other changes in diet/exercise, or lack of consistency in taking the supplements.
